AIM of course

The aim of the course is to explore and develop the students’ creativity in design. Students will also cultivate their marketing and business skills which are essential to enhance their competence in the fashion industry and create employment and business opportunities.

About this course

The Diploma in Fashion is a 2½ year programme where students will be introduced to research skills and methods, product development, design skills and methods and marketing and business skills. Special facilities are provided in the form of computer MAC studios, drafting boards, sewing machines and draping items. At the end of the course, students are also required to undergo a compulsory industrial internship. For further exposure, students are encouraged to participate in fashion shows and local and international fashion competitions.

Entrepreneurship

A special feature at CIC is that students will also be taught entrepreneurial skills essential for setting up their own business. They will be guided on financial, managerial, innovative and technological competencies required for the success of new business ventures. As such, students will be encouraged to undertake an entrepreneurial project of their own with the lecturers’ professional supervision.
